Cassopolis is located in central Cass County within the southeastern corner of LaGrange Township. Cassopolis is the county seat and the County Courthouse, County offices, and the County Fairgrounds are located here. There are two major Michigan highways that come through Cassopolis; M60 and M62. This area has a small town feel with older neighborhoods. There are a lot of vacation homes around their biggest attraction Diamond Lake.
Diamond Lake is a 1020 Acre All Sport and is the largest lake in Cass County. In the center of Diamond Lake is a 43 acres island called Diamond Island. It is east of Stone Lake and west of Donnell Lake. There are two golf courses on this lake; Diamond Lake Golf Club and Park Shore Country Club. Diamond is great for boating, water skiing, jet skiing and sailing.
Another good sized lake in Cassopolis is Shavehead Lake. This 289 Acre All Sports lake is shaped like a horseshoe and has waters with reported depths of 70 feet. There is a boat launch on the peninsula at West Harmon Park on West Peninsula Drive and East Harmon Park on the eastside of the lake.
Cassopolis owns four beautiful parks; Log Cabin Park on the shores of Stone Lake, Don Horne Park a 36 acre park in the northwest part of Cassopolis, Clisbee Park on North Broadway and Southside Park. In the northeast corner of the village is a 40 acre industrial park called Freedom Way Industrial Park. The park is owned and operated by the village of Cassopolis. Vacationers from both Chicago and South Bend love to purchase vacation homes in this area. Cassopolis is 35 miles northeast of South Bend and 115 miles from Chicago.
