2020 festival October 1st thru the 4th
Four Flags Area Apple Festival is a four day festival in Niles, Michigan at Lake Street and 17th Street. The festival is over 35 years old and billed as one of the top festivals in Michigan. This festival has a lot of contests, a couple of them are; Apple Peeling Contest, Apple Pie Eating Contest, Beard and Mustache Contest, Biggest Apple Contest, Home-Baked Apple Pie, Cake, and Pastries Contest, Lip Sync Contest, Old Fashioned Log Cutting and Hand Sawing Contest, Scarecrow Contest and Seed popping Contest. A little bit of something for everyone. They have the entire standard fair activities; carnival rides, food vendors, arts and crafts booths, Grande Parade, free entertainment, fireworks and Custom Car Show. Youth day within the festival has a youth parade, Trike and Big Wheel Race and other free kid activities. They have the Jr. Miss and Miss Apple Festival Scholarship Pageants and Prince and Princess Contest. They have The Harold Galbreath “Galley” Memorial Horseshoe Tournament.
