What to expect when going to a tasting room

The first thing to understand is the tasting room will not serve you if you appear to be drunk. We always suggest that you have a designated driver.

  • You will most likely be greeted by a host or hostess who will set you up with your glasses and will explain how their wine tasting is handled. Some will give you tasting notes to review.

  • The tasting normally starts with white wine first then red wines with dessert wines last.

  • You need to remember to sip the wine and see if you can like the wine. Never chug a glass of wine.

  • Remember if you like a wine ask if they sell it in stores or will you need to purchase a bottle while you're there.

If you like wine, going to different vineyards helps you build a great wine collection.
